The Bull in Sturminster Newton.  Our nearest pub, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the cottages.  Again very friendly people, and decent pub grub.  We like it here too!

The Crown at Marnhull, a pretty village about 10 minutes’ drive from Sturminster Newton.  It has literary links, being Hardy’s pub “The Pure Drop”.

Our favourite pub for eating: The Green Man at Kings Stag, about 15 minutes’ drive from Sturminster Newton.  Probably the best food we’ve found so far.  Seasonal and local dishes, lots of choice, really tasty.  Best dessert menu in the universe!
