The Bull in Sturminster Newton. Our nearest pub, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the cottages. Again very friendly people, and decent pub grub. We like it here too! |

The Crown and Victoria in Tintinhull. We particularly like the desserts here! Handy for visiting the lovely Tintinhull Garden. |

The Crown at Marnhull, a pretty village about 10 minutes’ drive from Sturminster Newton. Freshly-prepared food (so you have to wait a while for your meal, but it’s worth it), plus it has literary links, being Hardy’s pub “The Pure Drop”. |

The Green Man at Kings Stag, about 15 minutes’ drive from Sturminster Newton. Probably the best food we’ve found so far. Seasonal and local dishes, lots of choice, really tasty. |
